Hi Lloyd

The address is:
113 Three Shires Oak Road, Bearwood, Smethwick, Midlands B67 5BT. It's near the crossroads with Bearwood Road right opposite The Bear Hotel. If you click on the name of the venue in the "Upcoming Shows" box, it gives you a little bit more information. We don't know yet where we are on the bill, there are usually 3 - 4 acts on between 4 & 7.00ish, but we'll be playing for at least 40 minutes. When the lineup's finalised I'll update the info on the MySpace site. They do good food too by the way.

It is very difficult to get paying gigs but I guess that as long as you're out there playing live, people are aware of you and hopefully
they might get interested in what else you do. I keep promising myself I'll try to learn some ragtime but I never get round to it. I've been into the blues for years but I've only really scratched the surface of ragtime (ie. one Blind Blake album). Anyway I'll check out your website.

I hope to see you a Atticus.

All the best

Pete

Hi 1 (or is it Bloke? Ha ha!)

Nice to hear from you. We're doing a couple of gigs at the end of September. On Sunday 27th at Atticus in Bearwood and on Tuesday 30th at Bar Island in Birmingham. Both of them are free admission and there are a few other acoustic acts on. For further details, you could have a look at our MySpace page, (www.myspace.com/theelectricshed). It'll be good to see you if you can make it.

I see from your photos you appear to be in a band. What are you called? Any website/MySpace?

Cheers

Pete

Originally we are from Watford, Hertfordshire. Not a place I'd want to live anymore, but we still have a lot of family there.

As for northern Spain, never been there myself! We are waaaay down south (nr Seville). But I will ask for you because some of the guys that hubby works with are from northern Spain, maybe they can give you a few tips!

I'll get back to you on that one.  But I'm sure it'll be a great trip.

Speak soon.

Hi ya 1bloke, sorry for the huge delay in replying! I've just been so busy it's been mad.

Anyway, the playing and singing is coming along nicely. I'm currently working on a duet of the Stones' Wild Horses with a lady in Canada and a truely awesome guitarist in USA. The wonders of modern technology eh! Thanks for the encouragement. I'm purely a hobbiest though (and still can't sing in front of anybody!!!)

The new forum (and now shop) have been hogging a lot of time, but it's all great fun.

And as for Hubby, well what can I say! He's been dabbling with guitar for about 6 months. But a few weeks ago had some one to one time with a guy from the forum in our videochat, then recorded this. Well it's not perfect, but for someone that's been playing lead for only a couple of weeks and knows no music theory, I'm really proud of him.

Hope you are well. Keep playing and keep biking...it's all there to enjoy! Life is good!

Hi, ibloke,
nice to hear from a fellow motorcyclist. My T-bird is a Hinkely one, although I have had a few Meridan Triumphs in the past. I'm not sure if 'guitarist' describes my attempt at playing, but I try.

All the best.

thanks, thats the way i try and approach it but sometimes it can get to me a bit. Keep pushing on though, and will hopefully get there someday.

Thank you for the words of advice

hope all is well

xx

Hi 1Bloke,
Avoiding you? Perish the thought. You're not the only one who reckons I've gone quiet. Due to family health issues I've only been able to get on line sporadically for short periods. Apart that is for the wee small hours when anyone esle with an ounce of sense is tucked up in their beds. Fingers crossed things will get back to normal in the reasonably near future.
Best Regards
Des

Hi,

Glad you liked 'She Moves Through The Fair'. It's played in DADGAD tuning lapstyle with the guitar setup like a dobro (raised nut). A little unconventional but I got the idea after listening to dobro maestro Jerry Douglas. A dobro is next on my wish list.

Good pics 1bloke, my hubby was particularly taken by the triumph pic though. You'll need to give us access to some of your music, so we can hear what those pictures sound like!
