Hi Dave,

I'm not sure what the objective of that peculiar design is for. Knowing the effort and time it takes to build a guitar it amazes me that someone would risk potentially wasting time and money on an idea like that just in case it doesn't work they way it was intended. But I'm glad they did.

Best regards,

Steven

Dave

Thanks for the feedback, I currently have a set of EXP16's installed that I replaced the stings the guitar came with, so will probably stick with those when I replace them shortly.

where on earth do you find the time to build guitars, I bearly have time to practice playing one!

Hi Dave

The I think the email notification was probably in regard to a response I made regarding the beginners thread on the forum.

Glad the pins have worked well for you, on the subject of strings what are you currently using?

John Etheridge played in Hull as Trio North with Ben Crossland fretless bass and Dave Tyas  drums. They were playing a selection of Johns favourite tunes which fortunately coincided with some of my favouites. I suppose he could have been accused of not been cutting edge but it was a thoroughly enjoyable evening, I was totally absorbed with it( and I won the raffle!)

I saw John Williams at Harrogate 2 years ago the two Johns are as differant as chalk and cheese I'll have to keep an eye out for their duet CD

Hi Dave

I've no dates on the Patenotte but would guess 40s' 50s'. The top isnt flat but the curve is nt pronounced ,ie not a carved top imo. I does have a zero fret and a spanish heel.

Hi Dave it would be great if you could share your guitar makeing with us there are a number of luthiers of all stages and skill levels and its interesting to see how different people tackle this task, a blog would be the best way to go I think. Chris

Hi Dave the Davey Graham one is it for me although the Stones had a classic tune too. Stairway to Heaven is a classic never mind stopping it in the music shops they should have stopped Rolf Harris doing it!!!
