Playing guitar (getting worse) and learning the banjo (slow-ly). Just got a Ukelele for my wee one, but it's great fun.
Also just got a mandolin and a student violin!

Catherine Tate, Pop Festivals and Pasta 'n' Sauce.

Exactly 36 years old, married for almost 9 years, living in Hamilton (near Glasgow), playing guitar since I was 16, and getting slightly better, working in an office, wishing I was still in a band, looking after my five year old daughter, stopping her playing daddy's new guitar with her hairbrush, got her a guitar (that she insists on playing upside down), started going to local folk club and nearly passed out with nerves at the open mic night(!).

Hi!
Thanks for the thanks re truss rod tips...hope it works out!

I used to help run The Crown folk club in Edinburgh back in the early 70's..used to get Hamish I across as a guest ...he often used to drop in during the shows we put on during the festival and was always willing to do a floor spot for free..great character.

How about Karine Polwart as another singer /songwriter tto check out?..."Faultlines" and "Scribbled in chalk" both excellent in my view..not so keen on her latest though. Cheers,Andrew

Thanks for your kind words in respect of my posting....  too many years spent writing detailed, yet concise, engineering reports for customers whose attention span doesn't stretch to reading three pages of written text, I'm afraid.

There's one good thing come of it though, the wife won't let me make out the shopping list!!

Just looked at your gallery....what a picture fest! Beautiful guitars.

And the line "playing daddy's new guitar with a hairbrush"...priceless LOL, an alternative to slide maybe???

Forgot to mention that there is also an afternoon guitar workshop at Cumbernauld Theatre - doh! - what can I say, it was late when I posted it!  Timings etc will find their way onto Julie's website when I get a chance.

I agree it is a fantastic space.  We're really looking forward to it.

All the best, John

Hope to meet you again next year!
