Award winning guitarist Stuart Ryan is known to thousands of guitarists the world over thanks to his monthly acoustic guitar columns in Guitar Techniques Magazine. Stuart has been described as "One of the finest guitarists of the young generation" by Europe's leading guitarist, Martin Taylor MBE and his concert diary has taken him to Italy, Austria and Ireland in addition to countless appearances at some of the UK's most prestigious venues, including two performances at London's Purcell Room.

Equally adept on both acoustic and electric guitar, Stuart's music combines influences from jazz, world and traditional music and his debut CD, 'The Coast Road' was described as "A beautiful collection of solo guitar pieces" by Acoustic Magazine editor Steve Hervey. In addition to concert performances Stuart has appeared on radio shows throughout the UK discussing and demonstrating the possibilities of solo acoustic guitar. A passionate guitar educator, Stuart's compositions are in the London College of Music's acoustic guitar exams at grades 8, 7 and 4 and he recorded the entire exam syllabus for the accompanying CD.

2008 is set to be a busy year with a masterclass and performance schedule which will see a return to Austria and Ireland. In September Stuart will take up the post of Head of Guitar at the new Bristol Academy of Modern Music (BIMM), sister to the famous Brighton Institute of Modern Music.
