Thanks for your comments.  I really envy you seeing Hamish in the flesh - from his book and recordings he appears to have been quite an entertainer.

And thanks for the tip about Karine Polwart - I will check this asap

Great version of "I Promise You", Andrew!!

This is right up there with the original.....but especially the one where Steve Knightley & Martyn Joseph perform on one of my favourite albums, "The Bridgerow Sessions"

Hi Andrew,
Plectralium bushes are indeed quite rare, even this side of the bridge!
We seem to be getting a few members from the SouthWest, perhaps we should start a Clan!
Really enjoyed your song, got any recording tips?

Regards
Les & the Carrot

Hi Andrew,

Great to hear you playing. I wasn’t sure what to expect when joining a forum but this is a real bonus!

I’ll better get back to workshop and start building that mandocello.

Cheers Gary

I enjoyed this (IPromise You) thanks. The singing is great and the accompaniment very tasteful. Preffered this to the original (sorry Steve). Looking at your music choice, have you heard John Doe #24 By Mary C Carpenter. It's on Stones In The Road. Just my fav of hers.
