Hi Chris

Sorry to have missed you last month. Please come again and I hope to be there most weeks from now on. Also at Wessex Folk Festival in June

Hi Chris,
I have a gig at the 'Shore Thing' in Mudeford on 21st of june. It would be great to meet you if you can make it down. Looks like we would have plenty to chat about, movies and guitarswise.

Have you done all five versions of Bladerunner yet?

Hi Chris
I'm Back. Any news I've missed?
I see I had a letter in the last issue. Trouble is I can't remember sending one!

Hi Chris,
Thanks for the comment. What about some more info and a picture of this Guild then. I hope you wash your hands after playing it, especially before you lift that lovely Martin of yours.
I've not been able to practice again for a while. I'd just restarted long enough to get sore finger tips when I suffered from tendon problems again. I've been clear now for acouple of weeks so I'm hoping to get practicing soon. Feel as if I've forgotten everything.

regards
Des

Hi chris,
Thanks very much for the warm welcome, glad you like the tunes. I'm hoping to be gigging quite a bit in upcoming months, so I'll let you know if I'm going to be heading to your neck of the woods.

Hi Chris... I'm fine thanks, you too I hope. I'm still a bit slow on this site, haven't worked out all its nuances yet! Just been investigating your guitar building prowess, must be great fun making your own instrument, very absorbing I imagine! Thanks for taking a look at my ezFolk site, hope you found something you liked...SteveA.

Hey Chris, that's great news.

It would be fantastic to see your guitar when it's finished. WOW, the wait'll be worth it!!

My third build has taken TWICE as long as the first and second; mainly because I couldn't maintain the 20 hours a week I was spending on it with a family and job!!

All the best,
Sam.

Hi Chris

Thanks for the message, early days with the bass project, still doing a bit of research so I haven't decided on tonewoods yet. Hope all's well with you; how's your classical coming together - must be almost done by now.

Hello Chris!

Thank you for your message.

Well, firstly, those guitars you see in the mag are my pal Martin Edwards'- he's the guy I'm talking about!

As for me, well the tonewood I get comprises of 30% local wood, recently acquiring an old redwood loom from a friend that was nicely quartersawn.

Speak to your local forestry place and ask them if they know where local hardwood is sold- these things happen by chance, and we all have our own ways of getting local stuff. Some of these guys will sell you a few boards of hardwood--- but it's far better to buy from the luthier suppliers due to them actually buying wood suitable for guitarbuilding- quartersawn and of good quality. Kiln dried wood is a nightmare to resaw- so air dried is best!

I believe there are a few good hardwood stores down by you; reclamation yards are great for getting hold of maple, mahogany and other stuff- but don't tell them you are building guitars- or they'll rip you off!! One guy charged me £150 for a board of mahogany, and I stormed off!!!!

Hope all is well in your world
