Being a Folkie I relish melody and esp. harmony. Popular music, with its emphasis on insistent rhythem can be a problem for me. 'atonal' music is even worse!

Unfortunately all the usual classics but with special emphasis on Austen, Shakespear, Eliot, Thomas and Tolkien. And the Hitch-hikers guide is always a tonic.
