Nice to be back, and thank you for your message, sir.
I deleted my account recently because this site was moving slowly in terms of membership, etc, until to my utter shock my comments in the mag appeared, then I re-registered.
Didn't realise that all the posts, threads and comments would disappear too!!!!
The music will be uploaded again as soon as I have time.
Let this be a warning to ya'll....do not EVER delete your account here!!!
Hi Carl, sorry for the delay in getting back to you!
Yes, I would imagine Cams is in the process of getting things in order after the big move. I'm guessing he will surface online sometime in the next few weeks.....
As my Fatih is my first guitar comparisions with others are a bit tricky, however when I listened to several other makes / models in the shop I was struck by the tonal quality of the faith, so much so I spent £100 over my intial budget!
the guy in the shop did say that patrick eggle had input into the design to a resonably detailed level, this guy was also a Luthier so with his advice and the sound quality it had to be the Faith.
I have not regreted the decision and still love the sound it produces, still can't play it properly yet though!
Thanks for the message, I've been a bit lax in updating lately so I'll try to post some current photos this weekend. The guitar is ready for finishing now so it should be producing some kind of sound in the new year.
Hi, yes. I have been trying since September to get my GIBSON advertised in the magazine. My emails were never answered either so I thought I would try this way. Much too expensive to put on Ebay, ( been caught out like that before ) ! I ordered it from a shop who had to order it in specially. Had I known that the width of the neck is much slimmer than usual I doubt if I would have ordered it as I do have trouble with rheumatism and can only play it for a little while. Never mind, I live in hope. Beautiful guitar none the less. Thanks for contact. Stue.
Thanks for the message, Carl. Yes, after five years of restoring an old cottage ourselves (this seems to be the favourite pastime in these parts) I'm definitely settled in. It's a lovely little village right on the Irish Sea. We have good friends here now, and we often get together for acoustic nights. I really look forward to meeting new friends in May when we have the bluegrass school. And the people coming from the US are really looking forward to seeing Wales, too.
Hi Carl, unfortunately not, but I'd say its definately not something to be insulted about, a good acoustic bass would really expand the sound of a small combo dramatically.
Another way to approach it would be a baritone guitar, which would be the best of both worlds.....
Thanks for the welcome, Carl! I come from the US, but moved to the Pembrokeshire coast five years ago. It's a beautiful place... I look forward to finding out more about your music on the forum. :)

Hi Carl, my guitar was built by Alan Arnold, a luthier down in the south of England, its just perfect for me, in temrs of playability and has a lovely, slightly dark resonant sound when you hear it in person, I just need a matching one in Mahogany or similar and I'll be happy...
In terms of choosing a guitar, it depends on your budget, go for solid woods if you can afford it, if not try for a solid top at least.
Dont be mesmerised by the name on the headstock, rather the sound the guitar produces, and try as many as you can, which will give you an idea of the differences in sound and also playability. You have got to have a guitar that makes you want to play it!!
Of the decently priced ones I've been impressed by Seagull, Simon & Patrick and Art & Lutherie guitars, as well as a few Yamahas..... More expensive; Larivee's and so on....
