Default Glen Campbell

Anyone seen him in concert before?
I've jsut booked tickets for next month at the Anvil in Basingstoke (he's also playing Royal Festival Hall).
I know he's not the coolest artist around, but he did record some great tunes & he plays Acoustic!

I played on a BBC concert special which featured Campbell back in the '70s. Thanks in the main to Jimmy Webb he had some great songs, and a bluegrass segment with a banjo picker called Carl Jackson showed that he had some guitar chops - but then he spoiled it by coming on and doing some godawful bagpipe playing which was supposed to be cute...

Well, saw the old man last night & have to admit it was even better than I expected.

He looked amazing - closer to 50 than 70 - & his performance was both professional & highly entertaining.

He played all his old classics, plus a couple of nice duets with his daughter Debbie (who impressed too) & pretty much the whole of his new album, which was very well received.

He played many guitar solos both on electric & acoustic axes. Fine player IMHO.

All in all one of the best concerts I've seen in years, so if any of you still have a chance to catch him on this UK tour, I'd highly recommend it.
