C.F. Martin & Co. ambassador will play the main stage on Saturday 13 September 2014
Aplin is a self-taught musician who first started writing music at only 15 and posting covers to YouTube. She grew a cult online following for her delicate, deft guitar sounds and was signed to Parlophone Records in 2012. She has now had over 60 million YouTube hits, and her debut album English Rain went platinum in both the UK and Australia.
Gabrielle has a number one single under her belt, too. In 2012, her cover of Frankie Goes To Hollywood’s ‘The Power of Love’ hit the top spot after appearing in the John Lewis Christmas advert. Her success has since lead to seven sold-out UK headline tours as well as shows with John Mayer, Gotye, and Ed Sheeran.
Aplin is a new generation of star, going straight from her bedroom to the top of the charts. With her fresh-faced approach, Gabrielle’s music is the antithesis to most of the music we hear on the radio. Her delicate guitar-based brand of folk-pop is a refreshing tonic to over-produced chart fodder, hitting a sweet spot reminiscent of Joni Mitchell. For the gifted singer-songwriter, distinctive guitarist, and truly 21st-century artist, English Rain indicates a performer whose skills belie her 21 years.
Gabrielle is in and out of the studio working on the follow-up to English Rain. She plays a solo set the main stage of the London Acoustic Guitar show on Saturday 13 September 2014. Tickets are on sale now from lags.blazefuture.wpengine.com
